About
Founded in 2020 as a result of the Black Summer Fires, The Australian Firefighters Climate Alliance is a group of dedicated firefighters who want to see climate justice

AFCA is a network of grassroots volunteer and career firefighters who want to see our governments take stronger action on climate change. If you are involved in firefighting in any way, please join us.
We are a 100% volunteer group. We receive no external funding. We are not connected to any political party. We are not affiliated with any fire agency, and use of images on this website with particular uniforms does not imply endorsement of AFCA by that organisation.

AFCA members are located around Australia. We acknowledge that wherever we live and work is the unceded land of First Nations people. We acknowledge First Nations people have used fire practices to care for country for over 65,000 years. We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their Elders past and present.
